Community Engagement West Jasper
If the answer to your question about our Medically Supported Detox is not found below, please feel free to reach out to us!
We plan to move into 156 West Jasper in Q1/Q2 2025.
We have physicians and nurse practitioners on site. With the help of our onsite nursing team, we assist clients in the medial detoxification phase of their recovery. While this is happening, we have a team of social workers, addiction counsellors, recovery coaches, and frontline staff helping the individual meet their goals. This can include:
Once inside, the detoxing individuals receive 3 meals a day, wellness programming, and are provided with laundry services.
Individuals are expected to rest and do regular check-ins with the addiction counsellor and nurses. They are expected to attend therapeutic sessions, such as educational sessions on addiction, mental health, and well-being, as well as fellowship sessions (i.e. peer lead groups).
The first step for getting into detox, is to book an assessment appointment by calling. When you come in for the appointment, you will be assesssed by our medical staff to determine suitability.
The goal of the Medically Supported Detox is to ensure people are fully detoxed and have a safe transition out of detox when they leave. For most people that stay is from 3 to 10 days. For folks who need a little longer with us, we have some longer stay beds called Recovery Beds.
The George Spady Society Medically Supported Detox is committed to being a proactive community member and a good neighbour. We do this by working with the surrounding community to share information, address issues, and find mutually agreeable solutions.
To maintain positive relationships and promote good will with our neighbours, we will provide an open forum to identify information gaps. A clear process will be in place for regular communication and conflict resolution.
As in our current location, we will have a Good Neighbour Agreement. That Agreement will include a streamlined procedure to promptly address and resolve grievances raised by community members and agencies, ensuring that concerns are heard and addressed effectively.
